Having worked with Dave previously and got good results, it made sense to return to his coaching.
This time around things were different though.
I was no longer playing rugby, work had more responsibilities and longer hours, covid had ingrained a more sedentary lifestyle with minimal training and on top of all of that, I’d become a father which became my no1 priority over everything.
Life had become busy and I had lumped on an impressive amount of timber.
The great thing about going back to train with Dave was that he had experienced all of this first hand and knew that I couldn’t train the same way we had done things previously.
I didn’t have the same time available and we would have to approach things differently and build on things slowly so they became habits that were manageable.
Daily steps and a diet that focussed on a calorie total prioritising protein was the foundation of everything. Slowly we introduced gym training and i fed back how things were going through the mobile app. Small tweaks were made here and there and the progress was impressive. Even if my weight didn’t change, the weekly check ins would show cm’s lost and my weekly photos submitted via the app also gave a visual representation of how things were going.
I’m pretty much 15kgs down since mid November and there’s been some down time during all of that for work, family commitments and life in general. Nothing is strict and I have had nights out on the beers too which we’ve planned for.
Dave has given me the tools to get results and it is true that you only get out of it what you put in.
I want to be healthy, fit and strong so I’m around as long as possible for my son. Working with Dave is allowing me to do this. I can’t recommend him enough. 🙌
